Do animals get embarrassed?should i give my sheepdog a haircut %26amp; bobby-pins to keep the hair out of her face?

* Wouldn't use hairspray.

* You can have her groomed to cut the hair around the face. Or just use a regular human ponytail holder to hold the hair up on top of her head. (This is good to do if your dog isn't great meeting other dogs -- even though she can see through it, her view is obstructed and other dogs can't see her eyes to pick up on cues.)

*Yes, dogs will sneeze but not necessarily because they have an allergy. A dog might sneeze if something is tickling its nose. (FYI Continued sneezing can be a sign of heart problems.)

* No, I wouldn't wait until she's asleep to do it. If she wakes up and is shocked she could jerk erratically and you could poke her eye out. I'd suggest the ponytail holder because the bobbypins could poke her without you knowing it. Just make sure she's calm then go about pulling her hair up out of her eyes. No need to baby-talk her while you're doing that. Just be firm and confident while you're doing that. If she gets nervous, don't soothe her like a kid -- it'll only reinforce the nervousness.

* Dogs might exhibit what we think is embarrassment but it's probably more in response to our behavior. When we see a dog come from grooming and a lot of their hair is gone, we usually start laughing or cooing them -- having the hair gone might make them look skinny and they might be shook up from the experience in general -- and they react to that. If you get your dog groomed and she looks very different when you see her, just be normal and say things you'd normally say.

* If you get her groomed, the groomer should know how to groom that breed. They shouldn't shave them down to the skin -- just cut enough off so that the length is gone. The coat closest to their skin should not be touched (meaning, don't have them turn her into a shaved dog!).

Dogs don't have ego's like us. They do not get embarassed about looks they only want to be warm, fed and a member of a family or group.

I have to say that I've seen the people at Petco and Petsmart groom and I wouldn't subject my animal to that. I thought they were gonna rip a dogs ear off they were pulling on it so hard. I would go to a reputable groomer and ask to watch a couple of dogs get groomed so you can see how they handle the animals. I don't think dogs get embarrassed by the haircut, but they just know that something is different and that people are talking about them in a strange way. If you take her to a groomer, make it a good experience. Lot's of love, lot's of treats and make sure the groomer is kind and gentle to her.

NO! That's the one thing that you cant do to a dog of that type. They have hair covering their eyes to block out the sun because of the extremely large pupils in their eyes. We lived on a desert with our Ole English Sheep Dog and didnt know. He hid in the basement and wouldnt come out till the hair grew back. Larry.

Why don't you have kids instead, they love to dress up. If you groom your dog correctly, there should be no need to have it clipped. However, i agree in times of extreme temperatures a professional groomer is a blessing, you dog will thank you for it. Leave the dressing up for the kids not the dog, as cute as you think it may seem, its just not natural for a dog. And yes, I do believe he would be extremely embarrassed. My female dog WILL NOT wear a dog coat, no matter how cold it gets, she grows a winter coat, but my male dog is a big 'nancy girl' lays in front of the heater, wears a winter coat and will not grow his own winter coat. The female runs away when I come at her with the dog coat, I always listen to them, I believe we humans are very slow learners.

Okay first....I would take her to get groomed. Atleast get the hair aout of her eyes. And yes dogs sweat. They pant. (they stick their tongues out and it looks like they are drooling) They don't sweat from their paws. I would try to keep her hair some what shorter in the summer. I doubt sh ewould get embarassed. Some dogs do get scared of the groomers....but those people know what they are doing. I wouldn't try hair spray...it's not good for their lungs and it could irritate her skin. Keeping her brushed all the time does minimize all the hair..dogs shed in the summer and if you brush her it will help her to stay cooler. I really hope I helped out! Good luck!

First of all, do not put hairpins, clips, and any other hair ornaments on her. The hair is to protect their eyes from the sun's rays. You can have her shaved by a reputable groomer to have a thicker coat grow in, but it's best to have her groomed. A groomer knows what they are doing. A very good groomer is a lady named Lauren. She owns Lauren' Dog Spa on St. Georges Ave, Rahway, NJ.

Dogs do not sweat through their paws. They drool and pant as a way of sweating

Dogs sneeze. It is brought on by strange scents. If your dog is embarrassed she will hide. I'm sure they become depressed for many reasons. The most obvious is the death of their companion and/or owner.

Yes dogs do get embarrassed. They have all the basic feelings and emotions that we have.

The hair protects the eyes from the sun.

Just brush right and keep mats away.
